I had called customer service at
Central Coast Nutraceuticals a number of times but to no avail after purchasing an
herbal product for approximately $200 from a (newsletter/brochure) mail solicitation. On Dec. 9, 2008 I had followed up with a call...I spoke to an intake order representative who identified herself as Shana. Shana told me that there was a 2-4 weeks hold up on this product because the company had sent out over a million newsletters & demand of the product exceeded supply. I had asked Shana regarding the status of the order but she replied that she could not locate the order because she is employed only to take purchase orders over the phone. I asked how can I find out about the order, she replied "call customer service"...I had told her I could not get through as I had already called a number of times. Shana continued to tell me that the
customer service department was "under-staffed", and that she understands that there is "an extensive wait on the
customer service line". When I asked where is the
physical location of the company, Shana said that she does not know. The only contact address is a PO Box #2596 in Chestertown, MD 21620-9848. I asked if the company is located in Maryland, Shana replied that "she did not know" and that she believes the product is not sent out of Maryland. I asked Shana how she was employed and to what address did she go to get a job...she replied that there is "no actual address for this company, but she works out of Maine." Shana proceeded to tell me that Nutraceuticals employed a staff of 200 who take orders and send out over a 1,000,000 brochures over a short period of time with order intake of 4,000 purchases per day. The company is inundated with work, and hence, the back orders. Employees work for multi companies (three manufac't/distributers) and are there to only process orders for what she states are "all natural products." I had refused to give Shana my name although she had repeatedly asked me. She also stated that if I paid by check there is nothing the company can do to remedy the problem because they could not trace a check. Again, Shana was determined to know whether I paid by check or charge. Again, I refused to tell her. I did tell Shana that I thought the company is allegedly a hoax & that the FBI should investigate the company. This company is allegedly defrauding people of their hard earned money & apparently- after reading so many complaints- they are managing to get away with it. I recommend someone should begin filing a class action lawsuit... I'll be more than happy to join. Scamers
